The 6ht Fotosub Gran Canaria Costa Mogán starts with 12 participating teams from 6 countries

Poster advertising the event.12 top-level teams, which make this event an international point of reference for underwater photography, will gather in Gran Canaria from the 28 of September to the 3rd of October.
The 6th Edition of the International Underwater Photography Contest, Fotosub Gran Canaria-Costa Mogán, takes place this year from the 28 of September to the 3 of October, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the Yacht Marina of Mogán.
Photographers from Germany, Spain, Italy, Norway, Portugal and United Kingdom who have won in the world’s most important events will gather at the Yacht Marina of Mogán to participate in this competition. There will be a total of 12 teams.
An international jury made up of prestigious professionals from Spain, Belgium and United Kingdom will be responsible for selecting the winning photos that will be exhibited in the closing event on Saturday 2 of October at 10:00 p.m. in Mogán Beach.
This same beach will host the 4th edition of Underwater Cinema of Mogán on the 30 of September and 1 of October at 9:30 p.m. Films from renowned underwater directors from different countries will be shown, and the prestigious director Leandro Blanco, currently making documentary films for Nation Geographic, will attend the event.
This year’s main new feature will be the collaboration of the synchronized swimming Olympic medallist Paola Tirados, who will make an underwater scenography dedicated to the defence and protection of sea bottoms.
Also for the first time, there will be an online Photography Open Contest with the sea bottoms of Gran Canaria as main theme, where all underwater photographers wishing to participate will be able to do so at the site www.grancanariafotosub.com
Fotosub Gran Canaria – Costa Mogán is organised by Hotel Puerto de Mogán and its Diving Center Atlantik Diving, and is sponsored by the Government of the Canary Islands, Cabildo de Gran Canaria and the Town Hall of Mogán.
