The event has been postponed because the orientation of the wave and the tide for the weekend of the 2 and 3 of October is not good.
The Town Hall of Santiago del Teide, Club Surf Punta Blanca and the Canarian and Spanish Surfing Federations, together with charismatic bodyboarder David Domínguez (2010 Canarian champion of Open Bodyboarding), present the much awaited final event of the 2010 National and Canarian Under-21 Bodyboarding.
On this occasion the setting will be the renowned spot of Las Conchas, in the touristic town of Puerto Santiago, in the southeast of the island of Tenerife.
Las Conchas is a right side wave of volcanic sea bottom, of scarce profundity and with a very consistent tube in the two sessions it provides; definitely a wave that will be much enjoyed by the youngest Canarian and Spanish bodyboarders.
The waiting period for the event is the month of October; therefore, next Wednesday 6th the Canarian Federation will announce if the event takes place next weekend or not.
The categories that will participate are: Under-14, Under-16, Under-18 and Under-21, this last one in both men and women categories.
The championship is organised by the Town Hall of Santiago del Teide, Club Surf Punta Blanca and the Canarian and Spanish Surfing Federations. It is sponsored by Shark Energy Drink and the General Direction of Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands, Naviera Armas and Islas Líneas Aéreas also collaborate in the event.
